The Luminous Path - Mind Training, Movement & Myth

This retreat is suitable for those who have a regular meditation practice and who regularly attend retreats, a centre or a group within the context of the Triratna Buddhist Community. You will also need to be familiar with, and happy to participate in, Triratna Buddhist devotional practice and ritual (puja), be comfortable with extended periods of sitting meditation and the possibility on some retreats of periods spent in silence.

Vidyamala, Padmadarshini and Nagasiddhi are once again teaming up to lead a retreat combining their respective skills and experience. Vidyamala will lead sessions on 7-point mind training from the remarkable Mahayana lojong tradition, oriented around cultivating Bodhicitta.  Padmadarshini will lead daily sessions of body work and movement drawing on her wealth of experience of both yoga and 'authentic movement'. Nagasiddhi will lead sessions on creativity, myth and ritual, creating magical realms each day in the shrine room. This team loves working together to create a holistic retreat that opens different doorways to open the heart and free the mind.

Vidyamala founded Breathworks which has now spread internationally with trainers in over 25 countries teaching many different aspects of mindfulness. She has written three books: Living Well with Pain and Illness, Mindfulness for Health and Mindfulness for Women. More details can be found at: www.breathworks-mindfulness.org.uk

Padmadarshini is a yoga teacher and has trained as a Somatic Movement therapist and educator with the Institute for Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy.

Nagasiddhi regularly leads and supports retreats at Rivendell. Nagasiddhi is also an artist and his own art work can be viewed at www.nagasiddhi.com
