The arts help us to come to know ourselves more fully, and help us to respond more wholeheartedly to the richness of the Dharma. These retreats range from creative writing to the visual arts and dancing. All these retreats involve meditation and Buddhist ritual.

Imagination is the secret ingredient in a spiritual life. Through writing practice, discussion, meditation and ritual we’ll enter the realm of the imagination ably led by these two experienced teachers. You don’t need to be a writer or very experienced meditator to participate – just willing to let language work through you and begin revealing the world. (Suitable for those familiar with both basic FWBO meditations)
February 8-15: £280/235
Bob continues to inspire our natural capacity to create with a combined exploration of artistic methods and Buddhist practice. We turn Rivendell into a large studio and provide a range of materials for you to explore. Readiness to experiment is what counts. You might be surprised at what emerges! (Suitable for those familiar with both basic FWBO meditation practices)
July 25 – August 1: £350/300 includes cost of materials
This weekend will be a blend of dance, meditation, and ritual. Gabrielle Roth’s 5 Rhythms Dance Practice assists us to move our bodies and our minds closer to an awareness of ourselves and our relationship to others. This allows us to arrive at a state of groundedness and receptivity to the practices of meditation and ritual. Open to all levels of experience of dance and meditation.
August 29-31: £130/100
